The Rajasthan Public Service Commission, Ajmer will hold a State Level Eligibility Test for Lectureship. Subjects: Anthropology, Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Drawing & Painting, Economics, English, Geography, Geology, Hindi, History, Home science, Jainology, Law, Library Science, Mathematics, Music, Philosophy, Physics, Physical Education

 

Eligibility: Any Indian national who has obtained Master’s Degree with at least 55% of marks (without grace marks (or) rounding of 54/5 and above to 55%) or an equivalent grade from an Indian University or Foreign University (equivalent to the degree of Indian University) is eligible for the test. In case of SC/ST candidates the minimum requirement in Master’s degree is 50%. Candidates have to appear in the subject in which they have taken the post-graduate degree. In case the subject of a candidate is not included in SLET, the candidate may appear the NET in the subject related to the one he/she has qualified at the Post Graduate level.  Candidates who have qualified the test are eligible to apply for the post of lecturer all over India. The Certificate of eligibility is valid for all time. Exemption from appearing in the Test: Candidate who have obtained Ph D. or submitted Ph. D. thesis or obtained M. Phil Degree by December 31, 1993. (The candidates should have at least 55% Marks in their Post Graduation to be eligible for lectureship.); Candidates who have passed the JRF test conducted by UGC prior to the test introduced for lectureship. (The candidates should have at least 50% of marks in their Post Graduation to be eligible for lectureship.); Candidates who have qualified the National Level Eligibility Test for Lectureship conducted by UGC/ CSIR. (The candidates should have at least 55% of marks in their Post Graduation to be eligible for lectureship.); Candidate who has completed Ph. D. and had passed Master’s Degree prior to 19th September, 1991 with at least 50% marks are also eligible to appear in NET – Test. Age Limit: There is no upper age limit

 

Scheme of the test:  The test will consist of there papers. All the three papers will be held in one day. Syllabus and Design of the Papers: Paper – I is compulsory and common for candidates of all disciplines. It will be of general nature intended to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of a candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension and divergent thinking; Paper – II and paper – III: Candidates may choose paper-II and III in their subject of Post-graduation. Both these papers will correspond to the post graduate level knowledge in that subject. Paper – I and II will be held in the first session. They will be of one hour and fifteen minutes duration each. Each of these papers will carry maximum of 100 marks and consist of 50 multiple choice objective type questions (items). There will be no negative marketing for wrong answers in paper-I and II. Paper – III will be held in the second session. It will be of two hours and thirty minutes duration and will carry maximum of 200 marks. This paper will consist of Two Parts- Part A will contain 12 short answer type questions of 10 marks and 50 words each. All the 12 questions of part-A will be compulsory. Part – B will contain 8 descriptive-type questions, except Mathematics of which the candidates will be required to answer any five questions of 16 marks and 250 word each. All the questions will be from the syllabus of the subject selected by the candidates. Paper – III will be evaluated of only those candidates who are able to secure a minimum of such aggregate marks in Paper – I and Paper – II as per direction of the University Grants Commissions.
