Duties and Accountabilities: The team is seeking a candidate who can lead or participate in teams to develop, appraise, and supervise education (or human development) sector operations that contribute to clients’ efforts to reform their education/ training programs, expand access, and improve quality. Selection Criteria: Master’s degree in economics, business or related field, preferably an MBA or equivalent, and 5 years of relevant work experience; Strong theoretical base in economics/ finance in both private sector and financial sector; Knowledge of, and experience in industrial and infrastructure sectors, banking (rural/ micro and SME and infrastructure finance, bank restructuring) and capital markets would also be an added advantage.; Strong analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative) and proven ability to conduct independent research, conceptualize and implement major projects, and propose solutions to policy issues and challenges.; Effective written and spoken communication skills; proficient in Hindi. Knowledge of another Indian language would be a plus.; Familiarity with World Bank policies and processes.; Ability to build effective relations with local and international partners. Good interpersonal skills, capacity to work in multidisciplinary and multi-cultural teams.; Willingness to travel frequently to and work in difficult and challenging environments.
